Here at Gardner Audiology, we believe strongly in having a team of many different roles, where every single person has a purpose in your hearing health journey. From the Patient Care Coordinators who answer the phones, to our insurance team who investigate if you have any hearing aid benefits; the Audiology Assistant/Lab tech serves another vital role from the second you arrive, to when you leave with your first set of hearing aids. Trained under our Doctors of Audiology, the audiology assistant/lab tech is their direct line of support in streamlining the best possible care for you here at Gardner Audiology. After you receive your hearing aids, the highly trained Audiology Assistants will be entrusted with all hearing aid support and services for our patients.
Audiology assistants ensure that all things run smoothly for the audiology team. They improve efficiency by handling routine tasks, which means patients are seen on time and our audiologists/hearing instrument specialists can focus more on patient care. They are utilized in each of our Gardner Audiology locations.
Key Responsibilities of an Audiology Assistant:
- Hearing aid services: Performing hearing aid maintenance and cleaning, troubleshooting issues, onsite repairs, working with the hearing aid manufacturers to ensure timely repairs, and connecting hearing aids to phones and other devices
- Clinical support: Conducting annual hearing screenings, guiding patients through basic use and care of hearing aids, and assisting the audiologist in performing ear cleanings and other services
- Administrative duties: Scheduling appointments, handling insurance paperwork, and contacting patients to ensure they are getting the best results from their hearing aids
- Maintenance: Readying the hearing aids for patients, sterilizing audiology equipment, and preparing the workstation for the audiologist
Here at Gardner Audiology, we are one of the few audiology practices that utilize assistants/lab techs to the full extent of their abilities. They are critical to our success and ensuring our patients are happy and satisfied with every appointment.
So why wait to start your hearing health care journey? Trust your ears with a Doctor of Audiology team, not a salesman. Call Gardner Audiology at 800-277-1182 today to schedule an appointment at one of our locations. Or, you can make an appointment online!
