United Healthcare (UHC) insurance company offers some plans with hearing aid benefits. As stated, not all plans have these benefits and it is important to research your plan and benefits. Gardner Audiology audiologists are UHC providers and our staff is well versed in verification of benefits.
Some plans have a full benefit and will cover a pair of premium hearing aids. Other plans have a set benefit amount that can be used toward the purchase of hearing aids. Others are subject to deductibles and copayments while others are not.
UHC Medicare replacement plans offer cheap, mail order hearing aids. This goes against Florida regulations prohibiting mail order hearing aids. Hearing aids that have not been properly adjusted can result in further problems, not limited to worsening your hearing. All hearing aids (including the UHC/HiHealth hearing aids) should be properly fitted, in person, by a licensed Florida hearing aid professional. For most, education and counseling are an integral part of successful adaptation to new hearing aids.
Insurance can be intimidating to try to navigate. Call Gardner Audiology at 1-800-277-1182 and let us help you determine if you have hearing aid benefits.
