You may have heard of Real Ear hearing aid testing. The purpose of Real Ear testing is to make sure that your hearing aids are properly programmed specifically for you. In the world of Audiology, we call this speech mapping. This can be done using a segment of recorded speech, or live speech. At Gardner Audiology in South Pasadena, Florida, we prefer to use live speech.
Using live speech allows for a much more natural sound quality. What hearing aid users will hear in the real world is live speech, not recorded. We can also manipulate our voices or the words we use to make sure that all frequencies of speech are included in the sample. This allows us to adjust your hearing aids to your exact prescription, all while using the same quality of sound you’ll hear in everyday life!
Dr. Rachel Conter uses live speech mapping in all of her hearing aid fitting appointments. It can also be used on patients with existing hearing aids if the hearing aids were not properly programmed in the first place, or if the patient had a major change in their hearing.
Dr. Conter is currently accepting new patients at her South Pasadena, Florida location. If you are interested in scheduling a consult, please contact Gardner Audiology at 1-800-277-1182 or email email@example.com for more information.
