Do you have Cigna Health Plans insurance? Many Cigna policies have a funded benefit for hearing aids, which is great news if you are seeking help for your hearing. But let me encourage you not to wait until December to use your hearing aid benefits! We recommend starting the process as soon as possible to ensure plenty of time for testing, ordering, and fitting before end of year.
If you have Cigna through your employer, your hearing benefits will be dictated by that plan. If you have Cigna Medicare Advantage, you most likely have a discount towards the purchase of prescription hearing aids.
Gardner Audiology is an in-network provider for all Cigna plans, and we can help you navigate your benefits, but strongly encourage you to start the process in October or November before Thanksgiving, at the latest. The last few months of the year are busiest in all 10 of our locations, so starting your better hearing journey soon ensures enough time to get everything taken care of before the end of December. Most insurance plans require claims to be submitted prior to 12/31 to utilize your benefits for that plan year.
Some Cigna plans require prior authorization or notification before hearing aids are approved, but don’t worry! Gardner Audiology has insurance specialists who will verify your individual benefits.
