If you have Meritain Health plan, you likely have an insurance benefit for hearing aids. Typically, this benefit is subject to your deductible, so don’t wait to use your benefits for 2024! Those who wait until December may not be able to get their hearing aids in time to file the claim for the 2024 benefits. We are in-network providers for Meritain Health plans, which is the insurer of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, and several other large employers in our area.
Did you know? Getting hearing aid devices requires more than one visit to your provider. We recommend contacting your in-network provider to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Upon making an appointment with Gardner Audiology at one of our 10 locations, our insurance team will go to work for you, verifying your Meritain Health benefits and ensuring we have everything ready to go for you in the clinic before your appointment.
We are approaching Quarter 4 of 2024. As someone who has worked in the hearing industry for over 13 years, I can’t tell you how many patients I’ve seen miss out on their hearing benefit simply because they waited too long to start the process! Some plans require signed medical documentation from your primary physician or other requirements that can take time, so don’t hesitate to start your better hearing journey as soon as you are able to.
November and December are typically the busiest months in our hearing clinics, with some offices scheduled weeks out. If your insurance dictates that you must be fit with the hearing aids by the end of December, it may be difficult to test, order, and fit you within the window we are bound by. Our Gardner Audiology staff are experts in getting you what you need as efficiently as possible, but it’s always helpful to have a little extra wiggle room to make sure you get the most out of your insurance benefits!
