The end of 2024 is (already) near! If you have health insurance through Aetna, you may have a funded or discount benefit for hearing aids, but you should start the process NOW to ensure you can use your 2024 benefits.
The process for getting hearing aids takes more than one visit to your provider. At your first visit, your Audiologist will test your hearing, review your medical history, and provide the best hearing aid device options for you. You will then return for a fitting after we’ve received the hearing aids from your insurance. The entire process could take 4 weeks or longer because insurance companies are overwhelmed with last minute claims at the end of the year and our patient schedule is very busy.
We advise our patient to file a claim before November 27 in 2024.
Gardner Audiology is an in-network provider for Aetna and Aetna Medicare. If you have Aetna insurance through your employer, your benefits for hearing devices will be dictated by the plan. If you have Aetna Medicare, your benefits range from a discount towards new hearing aids, to a fully funded benefit!
October – December are the busiest months in our hearing clinics, so making an appointment now is your best option! Hearing tests can be used to program hearing aids for six months. If you have benefits for hearing aids, claims must be filed to your insurance before 12/31, meaning you will have to be fit with the devices on or before that date.
