Myth: Hearing Aids Are NOT affordable!
At Gardner Audiology, we take the time to make sure that we not only fit you with the best hearing aids for your prescription of hearing loss but without digging into your assets. It shouldn’t take an arm and a leg for your EARS. If you have insurance, you could be eligible for a benefit towards the purchase of your hearing aids. Prescription hearing aids from major brand companies can be accessed for hundreds not thousands of dollars.
Myth: Hearing Aids are for old, old people.
Hearing loss is not limited to just those of older age, hearing loss can affect all age groups. There is nothing embarrassing about hearing loss considering about 1 in 8 people struggle hearing from one or both ears!
Myth: It’s JUST hearing loss; it doesn’t affect the rest of my life.
There is so much research and evidence that shows that hearing loss affects more than just not being able to hear your loved ones or TV. People with hearing loss experience fatigue. Your brain must work overtime to produce what it THINKS you’re hearing. Once you finally hear what you’ve been missing, you’ll wonder why you waited so long in the first place.
Hearing loss is inevitable and cannot be prevented.
While most hearing losses cannot be reversed, we have plenty of ways to manage and prevent further hearing loss. Using protective earmuffs or earplugs when exposed to loud noises will help protect your ears from future hearing loss.
Any Hearing Aid Can Work Even OTC (Over the Counter)
When it comes to selecting hearing aids, it can be very overwhelming with all the different styles, technologies, and most importantly, your level of hearing loss. It’s best to see an Audiology Doctor not a salesman. Prescription hearing aids are a long-term investment. Over the counter hearing aids do not require a hearing test and are a one size and sound fits all. That is why OTC aids have a very high return for credit. If you choose to buy OTC aids, get them from reputable sources such as Amazon and big box stores. This will make it easier for you to get your refund.
