Your insurance is verified prior to the appointment. An Audiologist will review your coverage and discuss options that align with your specific difficulties and preferences. Follow-up care is encouraged; adapting to hearing aids can take time. The Audiologist will fine-tune the devices to comfort and clarity. Additionally, the audiology assistants will complete hearing aid service visits including annual hearing screenings and cleanings as needed.
Every hearing aid fitting at Gardner Audiology includes Real Ear Measurements (REM) to verify if the hearing aids are programmed appropriately to the hearing loss. A thin microphone is placed in the ear canal along with the hearing aid. The audiologist will perform live speech mapping to determine and adjust different output levels of sound to match specific hearing loss. REM is considered an industry standard, although several hearing aid clinics do not offer it or have the equipment for it; about 70% of hearing aid users have NOT had this recommended procedure completed. Even if you did not receive your devices through us, we can complete REM on your prescription hearing aids
