During the application cycle, I was applying for sites that were primarily in the private practice sector. I had well-rounded experiences in the local hospital and in the local ENT office so I wanted more experience in a private practice. Gardner Audiology stood out because they had mentioned it was a fast-paced site, there were vestibular audiology opportunities, there was a unique loaner program. They also mentioned that they work primarily with the adult population.
I felt that this site would be a great fit for me because I prefer to work in a fast-paced environment, would love to expand my knowledge and refine my skills in vestibular audiology, and would love to learn more about consumer research. I also chose Gardner Audiology because I want to work with the adult population. A bonus reason was because they offered a stipend which is not seen often. Many sites do not pay their externs during the externship.
Gardner Audiology offers a well-rounded placement and provides unique cases for externs. This site will help externs learn how to become proficient audiologists. If you want to be part of a thriving practice and help the local community, join Gardner Audiology!
