NL came to the Zephyrhills office of Gardner Audiology to see if she qualified to participate in our current Field Study of new technology. She stated she had a gradual hearing loss and that her husband had tried for a long time to get her to see someone about the problem. She brushed it off and he compensated for the loss by tolerating the TV volume being loud and by speaking up.
NL’s husband passed away and she became more aware of the difficulties she was having because there was no one to help her understand others. I tested her hearing and she decided to trial a set of Starkey X110 RIC hearing aids as she was active and in meetings and social functions.
She returned for her follow up appointments very pleased with her hearing improvement. She was hearing very well in groups and at the clubhouse. She told me she could not possibly return the aids and purchased them!
