Hearing aid benefits are often provided by retirement plans, and administered through Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance companies. An example is FEP – Federal Employee Plan, also referred to as Government-wide Service Benefit Plan. This plan covers retired government workers through BCBS and provides a $2500 benefit toward the purchase of hearing aids every three years. There are many other examples. Some employer plans also have hearing aids benefits.
Gardner Audiology has been a long time provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance plans. Most plans will cover diagnostic hearing evaluations when ordered by a physician.
All Gardner Audiologists are providers for BCBS. We are happy to handle verification of your benefits and provide guidance in compliance of the insurance requirements. For instance, some insurance plans require you to be medically cleared for hearing aids by a physician. If that step is skipped, payment for the hearing aids will not happen.
Insurance can be intimidating to try to navigate. Call Gardner Audiology at 1-800-277-1182 and let us help you determine if you have hearing aid benefits. We have an office in South Pasadena and also offices in Citrus County, St. Petersburg, and Zephyrhills.
