Hearing aids are available through six major manufacturers: Phonak, Starkey, ReSound, Oticon, Unitron, and Widex. How do you know which hearing aid brand is right for you? Hearings aid are now smarter than ever, and many have the capability to connect to your smartphone. In other words, smartphones now have capability to adjust hearing aid volume, navigating different programs, streaming phones, streaming music, etc. However, until the release of the Phonak Marvel hearing aid, iPhones were the only smartphone capable of streaming directly to both hearing aids without an intermediary device. What’s an even bigger advantage? The Phonak Marvel is even chargeable which means no more pesky hearing aid batteries! This is particularly beneficial for patients with limited vision, dexterity issues, and is more financially reasonable.
Not interested in streaming capabilities with your smartphone? That’s okay! Phonak has a wide variety of hearing aid technology. At Gardner Audiology, it is our mission to find the hearing aid that best fits your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget! Already an existing user of a Phonak hearing aid? We have the equipment to program your existing hearing aid to optimize hearing aid benefit. We accomplish these adjustments by utilizing real ear measurements (REM). Why is this important? Your hearing aids contain a prescription analogous to glasses prescribed by an optometrist. A prescription for your glasses allows you the opportunity to have the best vision. This same concept can be applied to hearing aids.
