What To Expect At Your First Hearing Doctor Appointment

Taking the first step to improving your hearing health can be daunting.  The average person waits 7 years from the time they start noticing their hearing loss to the time they seek treatment.  The Audiologists at Gardner Audiology are here to help you feel comfortable during the process and answer any questions you have regarding your hearing health.  Today we will review what an initial appointment with one of our Audiologist’s may look like:

  • Introduction to one of our Board Certified Doctors of Audiology
  • A thorough case history regarding your hearing and health, as well as your current concerns
  • Otoscopy (examining the ear canal) to determine if excessive wax is present
  • Hearing evaluation to acquire the status of your hearing
  • Review of the results, including whether or not you have hearing loss
  • Recommendations of ways to improve your hearing, whether through good communication strategies, hearing accessories, or hearing aids

An initial consult is a great way to learn more about your hearing health and steps you can take to hear better.  To schedule an appointment or for more information contact Gardner Audiology at 1-800-277-1182 or email info@gardneraudiology.com
