Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Overview of Hearing Aid Coverage – 2024

Did you know that some Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance plans include hearing aid benefits? Blue Cross Blue Shield plans are offered nationwide. There are many different plans available, and benefits will depend on individual policy coverage.

The Gardner Audiology Doctors are in-network with Florida Blue, and we are also a preferred in-network provider for all BCBS contracts. Your plan will dictate if you have a benefit and the amount of coverage. Some plans are subject to a deductible, others are not.

Federal Employee BCBS plans have $2500 benefit every 5 years. This year they are requiring preauthorization for the hearing aids. Medicare Advantage plans through BCBS may offer discount pricing, or a may have a benefit of $500 to $2500 per hearing aid. Again, it depends on your specific plan. Retiree plans through BCBS often have benefits from your union or former employer. Some of these plans offer hearing aids at no cost to you.
